Rear Steer Trailers

These SDC 10.3 metre rear steer trailer were specially built for us at Diamond H Transport.

We needed a solution for carrying Wind Turbine Gear Boxes to Wind Farms in Great Britain and Ireland with extremely limited access. The turbine's gear boxes weighed up to  29 ton and have a foot print of about 2.5 metres by 3 metres, so you need a very strong trailer to cope with the weight. Coupled with the tight turns, the climbs and the descents that stood between us and the sites, our challenge was formidable.

To overcome the problem our trailers have been built with a mechanical rear steer axle which gives an unbelievable turning circle in forward and reverse. This is a massive advantage when trying to reverse in to the restricted access areas that we are used to working in.
